Come to The REC to develop your volleyball skills with Coach Kristin King-Winfrey. Coach Kristin will teach the fundamentals of volleyball in a non-competitive setting. Players will learn new skills each week focusing on teamwork, passing, and serving.

Youth Basketball

Itty Bitty Basketball

This program will introduce boys and girls to the fundamentals of basketball in a non-competitive setting. This will help your child develop social skills such as listening and following directions as well as hand-eye coordination. On a mini court child will learn the basics using a size appropriate ball and lowered nets.

Basketball Skills and Drills

Develop your basketball skills at The REC! Children will learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, and dribbling through a series of fun drills and games. All skill levels are welcome.

Basketball League

Fairview Heights Parks & Recreation is hosting a boys and girls basketball league for children in 1st-4th Grade. Children will be assigned to teams according to grade. Team requests may be accepted but cannot be guaranteed. Volunteer coaches are needed, please let us know if you are willing to help out. All volunteer coaches must be able to pass a background check. Registration Deadline is Friday, December 17. There will be a $20 late fee for people that register after the deadline.

Youth Baseball

Step up to the plate and knock one out of the park! You can cheer on your child as they learn the fundamentals of Tee Ball in a non-competitive setting. Your child will be introduced to throwing, catching and hitting. Your little slugger will love to play on the Miracle League Field with you in the stands. Classes are held at Moody Park.

Soccer

Elite FT Soccer Skills & Scrimmages

Fairview Heights Parks & Recreation is partnering up with Elite FT to offer Soccer Skills & Scrimmages. Our coed fall soccer program is safe, educational, fun and for all levels! Elite FT is for beginner and recreational players looking to be a part of a small group, learn new skills, and play with friends. Sign up your child or sign up with friends and we will place them in the same group. Players will meet once a week for 6 weeks at the REC Complex of Fairview Heights. Practices are 25 minutes of foot skills, followed by 25 minutes of a small-sided, safety first scrimmages.

All games will be held on Wednesday evenings September 15 – October 20

Running Mechanics Clinic

If you enjoy running but want to run faster or longer, this clinic is for you. If you have knee pain or back pain stopping you, this is for you. If you want to experience a feeling of incredible freedom like you were a kid again, this clinic is for you.

4-Person Clinic

If you want to experience the camaraderie of a small group combined with individualized attention, this running clinic is for you.

A 90-minute session as above. Additionally, every participant will undergo a video analysis of their running form at the beginning and the end of the session. Dr. Lana will personally email you a report with frame-by-frame pictures of your gait cycle. You will receive personal recommendations on how to make appropriate changes.

10-Person Clinic

WHAT TO EXPECT: The session is conducted by Dr. Lana, a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach of 11 years. She is an ex-D1 athlete and loves teaching biomechanics to other athletes. The duration of the clinic is 90 minutes and will be held at the outdoor track (indoor track in case of inclement weather).

You will learn what proper technique is and why it is best to move in a very precise way. You will then be taught the fundamentals of proper running form and learn basic drills to begin your journey toward better running. You will walk away with an increased awareness of proper form and your current limitations. In the end, you will get all of your questions answered about running and training myths.
