Congratulations! You’ve finally found your all-in-one functional fitness destination. Our group fitness classes will provide options to everyone from the slow mover to the trained athlete. From Yoga to Boot Camp, we’ll keep you on your toes every moment that you spend at The REC.
If you are more of a lone wolf when it comes to your fitness routine, you’ll definitely find your happy place working out in our state-of-the-art weight room or on the various treadmills, ellipticals and other cardio and training equipment that you’ll find at The REC.

Group Fitness Classes

Active Aging
Designed to meet your needs as an older adult, this class helps improve strength, prevent age related decline, and improve your life! Active Aging includes both standing and seated modifications which will allow you to adjust the workouts to your needs while also allowing you to progress when you feel ready.
Aqua Fit
Jump right into our aqua classes and build cardiovascular fitness and strength! Just like swimming, our water aerobics classes are easy on your joints, yet challenging enough to help you reach new levels of fitness. Because of their low-impact format, water aerobics classes are suitable for every fitness level. Resistance tools such as buoyant water weights and noodles are also used. Participants may bring and use their own water shoes and gloves.
Aqua Zumba
All the fun of Zumba mixed with water resistance for a low-impact, high-energy aquatic exercise. Have a blast dancing off calories with easy-to-follow steps that mix dancing and water movements to get the ultimate workout.
Barre
A workout class that is inspired by elements of ballet, yoga, and Pilates. It focuses on low-impact, high-intensity movements designed to strengthen your body. This full-body workout also develops agility and flexibility.
Bootcamp
Get in a quick and effective workout with this 30 minute Bootcamp class that mixes traditional calisthenic and body weight exercises with interval and strength training.
Cardio
How do we keep our hearts healthy? By doing cardiovascular exercise! Expect to get your heart rate elevated, sweat, and burn serious calories while improving endurance.
Chair Yoga
This is a therapeutic yoga class that improves your range of motion, releases stress, and leaves your body feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Traditional yoga poses for stretching, balancing, and strengthening your muscles are all done using a chair.
Cycle
This 30 minute class simulates riding out on the open road. You ride along flats, climb hills, sprint to the finish line, and challenge yourself with each pedal stroke. This class can improve cardiovascular, metabolic and musculoskeletal fitness. Rain or shine, you can always count on this early morning cycle class.
Dance Fitness
Dance Fitness is a high energy workout where you will experience 10-15 songs in this 45-minute class. Get your steps in, work up a sweat, and have so much fun you won’t feel like it’s even exercise!
HIIT
Also known as High Intensity Interval Training, is a 30-minute fat blasting workout where you give all out, max effort followed by brief rest periods! One of the most effective forms of training for overall fitness and fat loss. Be prepared to sweat!
Kickboxing
This class will give you a full body workout and help get you in shape by developing cardiovascular fitness, balance, coordination, strength, and agility. Also, learn self defense techniques! It’s great for beginners, experts, and everyone in between because you have the ability to adapt and change your pace to get out of the workout what you need. Torch up to twice the rate of running or cycling in the same time frame with kickboxing!
Les Mills
BodyBalance
This is a yoga-based class that will improve your mind, your body and your life. During BODYBALANCE, an inspired soundtrack plays as you bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves and embrace elements of Tai Chi and Pilates.
Les Mills
BodyPump
A barbell class that exhausts muscles using light weights and high repetitions to sculpt, tone, and strengthen the entire body. All fitness levels are catered too, with multiple levels of options during the class.
Paddle Board Yoga
Put your balance to the test with this advanced paddle board yoga class in our aquatic center. It is a full body workout that incorporates strength training, balance practice, and calming meditation with a wide variety of yoga moves. This class is not recommended for beginners.
Strong
Resistance training with various weight exercises to improve muscular strength and endurance. Get toned and STRONG with this muscle focused class.
TRX Fusion
Using the TRX suspension trainers, participants will experience a challenging, full body workout incorporating elements of yoga, Pilates, cardio and strength to improve mobility, balance, and muscular endurance.
Yoga
Get a full mind, body, and soul workout with our yoga class! It combines physical poses, controlled breathing, and meditation to get the best workout that also works as a stress reliever.
Yoga Flow
Yoga Flow’s number one goal: to get your body RELAXED! This yoga class moves at a slightly slower pace with its focus on relaxing your heartbeat, stretching and increasing flexibility, and finding an overall flow in the yoga process. It is great for beginners and yogis alike. After this class, you’ll be ready to have the best night’s sleep of your life!
Zumba
Get ready to party yourself into shape! Zumba® is a fitness workout inspired by various rhythms and dancing styles. Exhilarating and easy-to-follow, this international dance inspired, calorie-burning fitness-party will leave you wanting more!
Zumba Toning
This class is all the fun of Zumba with the added bonus of muscle toning! Each move is fun and serves a purpose in your muscle toning journey. It incorporates hand weights to get those Michelle Obama arms that you’ve been dreaming about!
REC Online Fitness
JOIN US FROM HOME! Please continue your Rec training by participating in one of our Rec Online Fitness Classes from the comfort of your own home! Start, stop and finish as you please, but most of all, stay healthy and strong!
Yoga
A relaxing and nourishing practice calms, improves flexibility, increases range of motion, and reduces effects of stress and tension.
HIIT WORKOUT
Also known as High Intensity Interval Training, is a fat blasting workout where you give all out, max effort followed by brief rest periods! One of the most effective forms of training for overall fitness and fat loss. Be prepared to sweat!

The Rec’s fitness center is approx. 5,000 square feet of the newest fitness equipment including:
- 30 cardiovascular machines (treadmills, elliptical trainers, Arc trainers, stationary bikes, rowers)
- Over 30 resistance training machines designed to meet the needs of all fitness levels
- 2 Hammer Strength athletic racks with attached lifting platforms
- Synergy360 by Life Fitness, a fully functional multipurpose exercise station
- TruStretch station with multiple tools for mobility and flexibility
- 2 group exercise classrooms
A wide selection of training modalities includes:
- Well Beats kiosk, a user friendly tool for streaming exercise classes and exercise tutorials
- Dumbbells, medicine balls, kettlebells, resistance bands, bumper plates, and balance pads

PERSONAL TRAINING
The REC offers qualified fitness professionals to help members reach their health and fitness goals safely, efficiently, and faster than working out on their own. Motivation, accountability, customized workouts, reduced risk for injury, support, and valuable information that lasts a lifetime. Members that utilize personal training services will have access to a training app so your trainer is a click away!
One-on-one personal training and group training will be available in 30-60 minute packages.
All training packages come with a free consultation/assessment, monthly check in’s, newsletter, customized workouts, nutrition recommendations, accountability, and lifelong learning. Invest in your health!
One-on-One Training
Need individual attention, have specialized fitness goals, or hate planning workouts? Our personal trainers will motivate, educate, and hold you accountable! Group Training
Those that train together, stay together! Not ready for one-on-one sessions or not within your price range? Enjoy all aspects of The REC by completing the list of tasks in the month of March to earn prizes. It is a tiered prize system where if you complete a small amount of the tasks listed you will still win a prize. If you complete the entire list, you will receive all of the prizes. The passports will be available for pick up at the front desk starting Friday, February 24th.

Do you ever feel intimidated when you look at all of the equipment in the fitness center? This is a tutorialbased walkthrough of each machine that will help you understand how to use each piece of equipment properly so that you can get in the best workout while you’re here.

Fitness Programs
Rock Steady Boxing
Rock Steady Boxing is a non-profit organization that partners with communities and fitness centers to provide people with Parkinson’s disease hope by improving their quality of life through a non-contact boxing based fitness curriculum.
Class exercises are modified from boxing drills and customized to all levels of fitness. Participants in the Rock Steady Program experience improved agility, speed, muscular endurance, hand-eye coordination, footwork and overall strength.
Must have diagnosis documentation from doctor.

LES MILLS™ group fitness classes harness the energy of many for a motivating, challenging and totally addictive workout experience. All LES MILLS™ classes are scientifically backed and proven all around the world. Every class is packed full of chart-topping music, inspiring qualified instructors and the latest cutting-edge choreography, delivering your total live group effect experience. New music and choreography is released every three months to keep workouts fresh and exciting. Fitness classes, high intensity interval training workouts.
