Fitness Department
Fitness Instructor
Classification: Independent Contractor
Wage: Negotiated by Contract
Description: Under the direction of the Fitness Manager, the Fitness Instructor is responsible for facilitating and leading group fitness classes, including, but not limited to, any of the following: Silversneakers, HIIT training, spin, yoga, dance fitness, kickboxing, TRX training, Pilates, swim, resistance training, and/or circuit training.
Personal Trainer
Classification: Independent Contractor
Wage: Negotiated by Contract
Description: Under the direction of the Fitness Manager, the Personal Trainer is responsible for designing and instructing safe exercise programs for clients, selling personal training packages, creating fitness guidelines and recommendations, and creating a warm welcoming environment for all members and staff. Pay is negotiated by contract.
Fitness Attendant
Description: Fitness Attendants assist members in need in our Fitness Center and ensure all of the REC’s safety protocols are being met with general supervision. Fitness Attendants perform tours for the front desk when needed as well as provide adult and youth orientations to the Fitness Center. They also assist maintenance in the cleaning of the fitness area. All Fitness Attendants will report to the Membership Manager. Fitness background and or knowledge is preferred.
Aquatics Department
Swim Instructors
Classification: Independent Contractor
Wage: Negotiated by Contract
Description: Do you enjoy being in the water? Does it excite you to teach new or refine existing skills? Swimming is a lifelong activity that can be learned and improved upon at any age! Help us teach current and future generations this invaluable skill in the safe, fun and welcoming environment of the Aquatic Center at The REC. Participants range in age and ability from 6 months through adult and beginner through seasoned swimmer. We have it all! Swim instructors have a strong knowledge of swimming and water safety concepts, are positive and possess high levels of energy & enthusiasm. Experience and WSI certification preferred; all interest levels are welcome. Training is provided.
Lifeguards
Description: Under the direction of the Lead Lifeguards and Rec Managers, the Lifeguard is responsible for providing a safe, clean and welcoming environment for the Fairview Heights Recreation Complex. In addition, the Lifeguard will assist in overseeing and maintaining all areas related to the Aquatic Center, including the pool, locker rooms, pool deck, and surrounding areas. American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are required or the ability to become certified within one (1) month of hire.

Description: Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Assistant, the Maintenance Attendant is responsible for the daily custodial maintenance of the Fairview Heights Recreation Complex.
Parks Department
2022 Summer Day Camp Counselors
Description: Under the direction of the Recreation Assistant, camp counselors will help run Camp Kodiak for K-6th grade. This includes checking in and out campers, leading games and activities, and looking out for a group of 10 kids. This is a 40hr a week position.
Seasonal Unskilled Parks Laborer
Description: This is a non-supervisory position engaged in construction, repair, and operation of various types of equipment for the maintenance of City parks and grounds.
Essential Job Duties:
• Clean restrooms and pick up litter around parks and medians
• Operate mowers, tractors, vehicles, and other small equipment
• Utilize a variety of hand and power tools in parks and grounds landscape maintenance work
• Assist in basic routine maintenance of such equipment
