Family Fun Nights

Enjoy a Friday night as a family with our unlimited climbs, inflatable bounce houses, and aquatics sports & splash. There is something for everyone to keep busy for hours on end!

Member Only Gym Days

Enjoy one of the many perks of being a member at The Rec with a members only gym day. This is a great time to gather the family or get together with other members to enjoy a game of soccer, volleyball, or basketball in a less crowded gym.

Every Friday at 6pm, the lap lanes will be removed until close for basketball, volleyball, and pool toys.

Lunch Bunch & Bingo

Join us on the first Thursday of the month in the Recreation Room for an afternoon filled with food, friends and fun. After lunch, you can sit back and enjoy the all-time favorite game of bingo. Registration is limited, please call if you are interested. Tickets for lunch must be purchased in advance.

Board Game Day

Join us at The REC for fun board game days. We will start off playing Shut the Box, a fun game that requires a little luck and some quick thinking. We will have other games available to play as this new program develops. We will provide coffee for you and your friends. Feel free to bring your own snacks. Enrollment is free, but registration is required.

Glassblowing

Turning Up the Heat!!!

Join us on our adventure to the 3rd Degree Glass Factory for a demonstration of glass blowing and molding. We will be shown how they make their beautiful glass art. Afterwards we will be able to view the glass art gallery where you will be able to purchase artwork if you choose to. Next we will head down Delmar to Blueberry Hill for lunch and a trip down memory music lane. Then we will go watch Root Beer making at Fitz’s root beer. Cost includes tour fees and transportation.

BuschStadium

Let’s Play Ball!!!

It’s time to think of spring and the St. Louis Cardinals. A trip to Busch Stadium is in order, we will visit the baseball museum, tour the stadium and Ball Park Village. After the tours we will stop for lunch at Llywenlyn’s Pub for a pre St Patty’s day lunch! Then we will try the luck of the Irish at River City Casino to finish our trip. Cost includes tour fees and transportation. Parts of the tour will take us outside, please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.

WaterWheel

What’s New at New Salem?

Waterwheels, log village, log cabins and lots of love and care!! We will be walking back in time visiting Lincolns New Salem Village. After Lunch at Mario’s Pizza we will be heading to The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and ending at Lincoln’s Tomb to rub his nose for good luck. Cost includes tour fees and transportation. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather.

Cyclist

The REC Triathlon

Join us at The REC for our Sprint Triathlon. This event will consist of a 750 meter swim, 12.4 mile bike ride, and a 3.1 mile run. All participants will receive a participation medal. Awards will be given out to the winners of their set age groups.

Fairview Heights Parks and Rec will be hosting a parent’s night out event where you drop your kids off for a few hours to participate in fun activities, dinner, and a movie. The activities will include Clip N’ Climb, swimming, and more!

Cardboard Regatta
Saturday, February 18

Grab the family for our cardboard regatta! See if you have what it takes to design a boat made from cardboard and duct tape then sail, paddle or sink in the calm seas at The REC aquatics center. Your boat muse be able to fit 2 participants that will race their boat from one side to next. Prizes will be given away for 1st and 2nd place. Bring some designs from home to help decorate your boat! Additional prizes will be given away for best theme.

Mother Daughter Tea Party

Dress your best and enjoy an afternoon with your mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters and friends! We will provide teas, lemonade, disposable cups, hot water, cream and sugar. Feel free to bring your favorite tea pot and tea cups for your family to use! Reserve two spots or book the whole table for all the ladies in your family! You will also get to work on a take home craft while enjoying light snacks and games. Registration deadline April 22.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Your dog is tired of watching you or your kids running around a yard struggling to find Easter eggs. Your 4-legged friend wants in on the action and to show you how its done. Join us at Moody Park for our first Doggy “Egg” Hunt. The eggs will actually be numbered tennis balls they find around the dog park which will redeemable for prizes your dog will love.

*To receive an extra prize at the event see if you and your fluffy friend can hunt down the other dog parks in Fairview Heights. Take a picture of your dog enjoying the parks and tag Fairview Heights Parks & Recreation on Facebook.
